With 28 wind turbines generating a total installed power of 42 MW, Volta do Rio Wind Power Plant is located in the city of Acaraú, Ceará, 240 km west of the state capital Fortaleza.
The Wind Turbines are manufactured by the German company Vensys, model VS70, with permanent magnet synchronous multipole generator and unit power of 1,540 kVA, nominal output voltage of 690 Volts, operating with nominal wind speed of 11.7 m/s and installed at 65 meters high.
The elevating substation is located in the wind power plant itself, with a 45 MVA – 34.5 kV/69 kV transformer, through which the wind turbines are connected to the Basic Grid of the National Interconnected System – SIN.
