ACTION (RMBH Communities)
Cemig teams carry out visits in low-income communities located in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. The main goals of this initiative are:
Promote improvements in the population quality of life and encourage the conscious use of energy;
Increase the number of families that use the benefits of electric energy on a regular, efficient and safe basis;
Contribute to reducing population energy consumption and the amount paid at the end of the month;
Enhance social, economic and environmental development of the communities served.
PUBLIC:
The target public is formed by residential customers and residents living in settlements, towns and occupations in Belo Horizonte and the metropolitan area and metropolitan belt as well as low-income families registered in the Electric Power Social Tariff.
COVERAGE
The project, to be completed in April 2020, is responsible for assisting 85,000 families in Belo Horizonte and ten other municipalities in the metropolitan region.
IMPLEMENTATION
During the visits, light bulb replacements are carried out and families receive energy efficiency tips that help in adjusting the family budget.
Action (Countryside Communities)
Conducting energy efficiency visits and educational lectures, addressing the good practices of energy saving and consumption reduction, emphasized by the direct action of a field agent, identified with uniform and badge, who will provide guidance on the correct use of domestic equipment with higher consumption, such as: shower, refrigerator, electric iron and washing machine.
Associate awareness and rational energy use actions with the implementation of free solar heating system supply and installation and free replacement of high consumption equipment, such as: electric shower, light bulbs, and refrigerator according to objective criteria to benefit the most disadvantaged visited customers.

40 thousand families in the countryside of the state of Minas Gerais, within a 200-kilometer radius of the cities of Uberlândia and Varginha, Montes Claras and Governador Valadares.
