With 510 MW of installed capacity distributed among its 3 generating units, Nova Ponte Hydroelectric Power Plant is housed in the municipality of the same name, on Araguari River. The large power plant started its construction in 1987 and began operating in 1994.
Composed by an earth dam, rockfill with a clay core, Nova Ponte HPP dam has about 1,620 m of crest length and 142 m of maximum height. Its reservoir has about 443 km² of flooded area and maximum storage capacity of 12,792 hm³.
